Will you go for the savings gathering today?

Betty             : Debby, will you go for the savings gathering today?

Debby           : Yes I will. I haven’t got my turn yet, hopefully, today I can get my money.

Betty             : I haven’t either! But I don’t like such a gathering, just waste my time.

Debby           : Why do you think so? So why do you join it since the first place?

Betty             : I just couldn’t refuse their offer.

Debby           : How many times have you come for the gathering?

Betty             : Just once.

Debby           : really? I don’t come frequently either. But I come more than that. If I’m not busy I’ll

always come there.

Betty             : I don’t want to go there anyway. So please can you just give my money to them?

Debby           : Oh my dear,…it’s good for us for socializing. Since everybody is busy, it can be an

apportunity for us to meet each other while we can also save some money.

Betty             : Do we?

Debby           : Yes of course! If you have talent in selling, it perhaps good also for you to market

your things.

Betty             : Oh sounds great! Yeah ….I have some jewelry. They may buy it. You right!

Do you think that children nowadays are more naughty?

A     : Do you think that children nowadays are more naughty?

B     : Well, it’s really depending. Children in the big city perhaps tend to be naughty.

A     : I agree with you. I wonder why!

B     : Do you know that it’s mostly caused by television?

A     : But sometimes  children who don’t like watching TV are also naughty.

B     : They are influenced by their environment. Children are still unstable, they are changable.

A     : What is the best done by parent to stop violence on TV?

B     : I think it’s rather hard to stop violence on TV, because children today have much more

freedom and chance to watch TV anywhere and anytime as well. Moreover, the media itself

often more concerns about profit rather than quality.          .

A     : So ?

B     : Parent must have good communication to children and give understanding about the harm

of watching violence, and children need to be controlled in watching TV.

A     : I agree with you. But how can we at least eliminate bad TV program, because I believe that

parent can’t control children 24 hours, right?

B     : Start from ourselves, don’t watch uneducated programs, if possible, tell friends or relatives

not to watch them either. By doing so, hopefully the rating of the programs will be low, and

in turn, TV will not broadcast low rate programs.

A     : You’re right.

What does your grandpa do?

A : Will you visit your grandpa this weekend?
B : Yes I will. Will you go along with me?
A : Maybe. I will see my schedule first. I’m interested to go to your village. I seldom go to
village.
B : Ok. I’ll be glad if you go with me. I can show you the beautiful scenery, the clean river, and
some cattle animals at the ricefield. The air is still fresh, and you’ll enjoy them.
A : Really? It’s great! What does your grandpa do?
B : My grandpa was a soldier before, but he is retired. He does farming like the other people in
the village. Planting rice and farming are their livelihood.
A : What about your grandma?
B : She passed away a few years ago.
A : Is your grandpa alone there?
B : Yes he is. That’s why I often visit him.
A : Why don’t you stay there?
B : I plan to stay there after I graduate from university.

Have you made a plan for marriage?

A : What’s that?
B : It’s a wedding invitation. My aunt, Jennifer will marry next Saturday. She will hold a
ceremonial wedding and also a big party in her town.
A : Sounds nice. How old is she?
B : She is 28 years old. I believe that would be the best age for a woman to marry. Do you
think so?
A : Hm,…could be, if we see from the point of age, 28 years old is considered to be a mature
woman. But maturity has nothing to do with the age sometimes. To be mature is a matter
of choice I guess.
B : By the way, when will you marry? Have you made a plan for marriage?
A : Well, I still focus on my study at the moment. But If I can make, I will marry at around 30.
How about you?
B : I have no idea. Because there are so many people divorce. I don’t want to marry soon
if I just divorce eventually. Personally, I will marry only if I’m really sure about my soulmate.
I will not make any plans for it. Let it flow.
A : You’re right.
